SS2014 Givenchy Runway Ricardo Tisci Desert Warrior Top

$275.00

SS2014 Givenchy Runway Ricardo Tisci Desert Warrior Top

Viscose Silk and Cotton Blend T-Shirt Material has an apron front with a desert warrior print in browns, black, oranges, greens and white with an angular draping at the shoulders that ties in back with a black grosgrain ribbon. It is attached to a tank top in black.

A great example of the collection and inspiration highlighted below.

For spring '14, Tisci switched gears, and instead of exploring that dark, twisted fantasy that's become so ubiquitous these days, he chose to focus more on the desert warrior look à la Frank Herbert's dune. With complicated, onion-like layers of jersey, suiting material, and a fabric that can only be described as dinosaur skin, Givenchy's spring campaign mixed Japanese and African design tropes for a futuristic, forward-looking collection (those bolt-lined plastic Tevas were also perfectly nerd-worthy). The sequined pieces also really worked (especially the copper, rust, and fire-colored striped evening looks), as well as a blanket poncho made of leather, and the ribbon dresses made from cut-apart glitter strips felt nostalgic in a déjà vu way about a youth experience that doesn't quite exist yet.
